Parents

Saturday Morning Duties

This year we have introduced a roster based on age groups to help with the key weekly tasks that need to be done to run the program.

Each week eight parents are required to assist us from a designated age group (see list below) - four parents from the boys and four from the girls.

The eight parents will form a team that will support in the following four areas.

No prior experience is required, just enthusiasm.

1 Set-up/Pack-up – Arrive at 8.30am and assist with getting out our hurdles/ throwing equipment and high jump mats from underneath our clubrooms. Pack-up hurdles at 10.30am. Report to Matt Bromley.

2 Finish Line helpers (four) – Located on the main track this group assists by ushering kids to recording and putting lane markers on track. Report to Scott Woolston or Ian Collins

.3 Recorders (three) – This group sits in the tent near the finish and keeps a record of times run by athletes for data input. Report to Lisa Lightfoot or Anna Hayes.

4 Data input (one) – This position is located inside the clubroom and the parent helper does not have to start assisting until 10am. Report to Kelli Gorman.

Note: Each age group is on duty just two times for the season.

But when the club competes at inter-club, Regional or State competitions, athletes are required to wear the Centre uniform, which consists of our CMLAC singlet and red shorts.  These items are available each Saturday morning.  The singlet is $30 and the shorts $20.

Insurance

Victorian Little Athletics Association insurance covers all registered little athletes from their date of registration. This also covers parents and officials in all centre, division, region and state competitions as well as training activities and travelling to and from venues.

Protests

Protests will not be accepted. Any concerns or suggestions put forward in a reasonable manner through the Competition Manager will be investigated on the day, with a view to avoiding (if possible) a recurrence of the problem.

Recording

The results of all events conducted during centre competition are recorded.

Centre Records

All centre records must be verified and signed by two club officials at the time of the record to become official.

Competing Outside of Age Group

Athletes may only compete in their appropriate age group unless permission is granted by the competition manager. Times, records and personal bests are used to calculate actual centre performance, which is only possible when results are recorded for the proper age group.

Policies

Australian Little Athletics is committed to providing a safe environment for all participants by ensuring affiliated Associations develop Risk Management policies covering the following areas:
