Season Awards

Track & Field

Last year CMLAC’s committee  modified its awards system in an attempt to better reward athletes that participate regularly, try hard and as a result, show improvement throughout the season.

Each week, an athletes results are recorded and a record of every new personal best (PB) is kept with athletes rewarded at the end of season with the following medals.

Bronze medal—20PBs (16 for U7-8, 14 for U6)

Silver medal—25PBs (20 for U7-8, 17 for U6)

Gold medal—30PBs (24 for U7-8, 20 for U6)

The qualification numbers may be adjusted if they prove too hard to achieve due to washouts etc.

At the end of the season, each child will also receive a certificate recording his or her performances for the season.

CMLAC will also recognise all-round excellence and will award an age group champion trophy  based on a computer-generated points system. For the summer season the club honors one male and one female athlete from each age group as the age group champion. All athletes accumulate award points for their respective participation and level of performance. An overview of the means by which the points are awarded are as detailed below. The club may also provide adjusting points in exceptional circumstances 1. Participation in a event 2 points 2. Achievement of or equaling a PB 3 points 3. Achieving a club centre record 5 points 4. Participation in Club relays (per event) 5 points (maximum 15 points) 5. Weekly performance bonus per event: Red 2 points Bronze 5 points Silver; 9 points Gold 14 points Performance bonus points can only be achieved once for each event during the season. Therefore a max of 14 extra performance points only can be achieved in each event for the season
