General Information
Camberwell Malvern Little Athletics Centre is open to all children aged 5-14 years. All children compete for fun, fitness and family enjoyment and are encouraged to participate in events in a positive manner, regardless of athletic capability. Little Athletics takes place on Saturday mornings from October to March, excluding the Christmas holiday period.Set up / Pack Down / Results Recording Duty Roster
As shown under Events, the U11 parents are on duty this week to Setup, assist with Track Results recording and Race Starts, and finally Pack Down. Please be down the grounds at about 8:15am to ensure all is setup in time. Many hands really do make light work.

As part of our mentoring and coaching program, we are pleased to announce that accomplished hurdler, James Edmonston, will be available at training on Sunday, 4 February from 9.30am to assist athletes to progress with their hurdling. If your child is a keen hurdler or needs some specialist advice then this training session should not be missed. This training is restricted to athletes in age groups under 9 and upwards.

State Relay Results
State Relays have been run, and while the medals did not flow, the spirit and endeavour was fabulous. As a centre we earned 2 Silver and 3 Bronze. Team by team results are available under Results - State Relay 2011/12
Centre Handbook now available on line.
In a move to be more environmentally aware, the Centre Handbook this year is only available on-line. Filled with information on the the centre, the events for this year and last years' competition and award results; it's a great read! Check out the CMLAC 2011/2012 HANDBOOK here!

Harold Holt Open Day - 15th Oct
Call for Assistance
This year we will again be running two sprint finish gantry's enabling us to swiftly run our program. We urgently require volunteers to become part of a rotating team in the two key roles - two as race starters and two to manage the finish line recording. The 2011/2012 SEASON
The LA season began at Kooyong Park on Saturday October 8 with a come-and-try morning. Whilst a bit overcast the day was enjoyable with quite a lot of new and old faces in evidence.
Fees for the 2011/2012 LA season have been set at $130 (first child), $100 (additional kids) which includes your competition T-shirt.

Parental guide
Little Aths is not like other sports such as netball, cricket, basketball where paid administratoras & referees oversee activities. It is completely run by parents. To this end two types of assistance is required:
- General assistance in setup, teardown and track related activities - twice in the season.
- Helping out in your childs’ age group. One role is the weekly Age Group Manager (minder); and they (you) need assistance with marking, measuring, raking and controlling. This enables parents to watch and more closely assist their child’s athletic development.
