The CMLAC 2011 Cross Country season saw the club field a team of nearly 40 athletes up from around 22 the previous year.
The State Championships were held in Ballarat and saw Georgia Hansen place 2nd in the U12 Girls narrowly missing out on 1st. Freddy Petersen ran well to finish 4th in the U7 Boys event.
The Eastern Metro Regional Championships were held on the 31st July and we had some fine individual and team performances.
Georgia Hansen (U12 Girls) and James Hill (U6 Boys) both won their age groups with strong runs. Freddy Petersen (U7 Boys) ran a good race to finish second. Isabel Dann (U11 Girls) ran her best race of the year to finish 4th just short of the medal competition. Sam Johnson (U6 Boys) and Anika Floris (U7 Girls) both finished 5th overall.

The U8 Boys narrowly missed out on a medal finishing 4th.
The 2011 Cross Country club championships were announced at the end of season award lunch.

Overall, I was pleased to see how well our athletes improved over the course of the season. We were far more competitive at EMR than our first race and I am proud of the effort put into training and technique this season. Well done to all.
